Credo

Vassily Kandinsky

I believe
many things
but I trust few
belief being by heart
trust by mind
so I believe
I believe
I heard
God speak
once long ago
a voice out of a tree
said ‘go home
or you’ll die’
I obeyed
I doubt
many things
but I’m still alive
an old man it’s true
but still one who
believes God
I trust

“Words, sounds, noises. There are voices everywhere.
Can you hear them? Everyone hears voices . . .” ~ Benjamin Alire Sáenz

About Peter Notehelfer

I'm a retired people person who now finds the time to watch the little details of the world without worrying about being watched by anyone . . . I live on an Island north of Seattle with my wife named Ellen, a yellow dog named McGee, a yellow cat named Gatzby, and four fine chickens . . . I read fiction, bake bread, smoke salmon, and fish whenever the weather allows . . . Oh, and yes, I try to write a poem every day simply to avoid senility!
