A saint needs no grace
Needs no mercy No peace
A saint never needs to repent
Never needs to do penance
Never needs call home

That’s why there are so
few saints in this patch`tire
world which we call our home
The saints they tell us about
are all dead and buried

Only the dead are saints
The rest of us are all meant
to fall get back up to fall again
Begging everyone to forgive
all our misspelled syntax

“Call it God’s will to slip upon the path,
to touch a soul and to be touched mid`air.” ~ Deborah Digges

About Peter Notehelfer

I'm a retired people person who now finds the time to watch the little details of the world without worrying about being watched by anyone . . . I live on an Island north of Seattle with my wife named Ellen, a yellow dog named McGee, a yellow cat named Gatzby, and four fine chickens . . . I read fiction, bake bread, smoke salmon, and fish whenever the weather allows . . . Oh, and yes, I try to write a poem every day simply to avoid senility!
