I looked everywhere
for the One beyond knowing
but I could find no clue of him
All I could see was the mountain
in August still covered with snow
the stream carving a green valley
the field covered in wild`flowers
the sea rose under the rose sky
the full moon chasing the sun
And that One found me

“If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you
You are surely lost.
Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.” ~ David Wagoner

About Peter Notehelfer

I'm a retired people person who now finds the time to watch the little details of the world without worrying about being watched by anyone . . . I live on an Island north of Seattle with my wife named Ellen, a yellow dog named McGee, a yellow cat named Gatzby, and four fine chickens . . . I read fiction, bake bread, smoke salmon, and fish whenever the weather allows . . . Oh, and yes, I try to write a poem every day simply to avoid senility!
