A Christmas Eulogy

Marguerite Stella Pelerin Wright

Joys hang like
Silver ornaments
On the tree she planted
In the garden of our lives
Silver stars sparkling in eyes
Of those who had her love
Who in return loved her
When she’d no gift
Left but love

Her epitaph:
Five simple words
That never failed her
‘Thank you! I love you!’
Her legacy: that such grace
Forever be the blessing
To mark the comings
And the goings
Of our lives

    Praise God in his sanctuary!
Praise God in his mighty firmament!
Praise God for his mighty deeds!
Praise God according to his surpassing greatness!
Let everything that breathes praise God!
Alleluia!”  ~ Psalm 150

About Peter Notehelfer

I'm a retired people person who now finds the time to watch the little details of the world without worrying about being watched by anyone . . . I live on an Island north of Seattle with my wife named Ellen, a yellow dog named McGee, a yellow cat named Gatzby, and four fine chickens . . . I read fiction, bake bread, smoke salmon, and fish whenever the weather allows . . . Oh, and yes, I try to write a poem every day simply to avoid senility!
